Corporate Restructuring

In addition to the services we provide in drafting transactional modification and forbearance agreements, the WGP team provides experienced counsel and litigation assistance with matters concerning troubled borrowers, complex debt issues, corporate restructuring and lender liability concerns.  We strive to obtain repayment for our clients in an efficient and cost-effective manner through negotiation and workout where practicable.  However, we stand ready to pursue other avenues for collection, including litigating issues related to the above in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.  Our attorneys’ collective experience on both the creditor and debtor side enables us to understand all facets of a problem or opportunity, and to structure creative, informed, and practical solutions to protect and advance our clients’ interests.

Bankruptcy

In the area of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, members of the firm have represented financial institutions in matters of national and local significance. WGP also has substantial expertise in representing commercial debtors, creditors committees, purchasers, and litigants in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 cases throughout the mid-Atlantic states. The firm has served as counsel to trustees in Chapter 11 and 7 cases in Delaware and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Compliance

The firm assists clients in ensuring that their financial products are in full compliance with consumer finance and related laws and regulations. We have extensive experience in creating novel consumer credit products and services for our clients which are geared to their particular needs.
